In a historic moment for Indian medical history, well renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Chandrashekar Bande performed a complete mandible (lower jaw) resection and reconstruction surgery on 18th August 2021 at Alexis Hospital, Nagpur. It is a landmark milestone for India’s medical science as it is Asia’s first case wherein a patient’s complete mandible was reconstructed using an advanced 3D printed patient-specific titanium implant.
